Another Super Bowl has come and gone. I cannot believe this is my 3rd one to be a part of at FedEx. It is always crazy busy with long hours and lots of excitement. Super Bowl 50 in San Francisco went down as one of the best...especially since Russ got to join me at the very end. Recapping the experience below...
I got home from SB50 Round 1 on Sunday, stayed for 30 hours just long enough to kiss the family, repack and head back out west Tuesday morning for 7 more days. Flying to San Fran from Memphis is a HAUL! And it was my least favorite thing about SB50 this year.
Wednesday was another HUGE day for me with the FedEx Cares SB50 press conference with Eli Manning as our special guest. The presser announced our new global giving platform, FedEx Cares, and our 5 year commitment to donate $200M to over 200 global communities by 2020. David Meeks, sports editor for the USA Today, was the moderator of a panel with Eli, our FedEx SVP of Marketing, Patrick Fitzgerald and representatives from charitable partners we work with across the globe. Eli was the carrot to get the media to cover the event and it worked...this was his first media event of SB week and EVERYONE wanted to talk to him about his brother Peyton, who was obviously playing in the game for the Broncos. The event went amazingly well and I was sooo happy to have this one behind me. It was definitely the biggest stresser for me this year.
Room is prepped and ready! We were just praying for a good turnout at this point!

Thursday was a little more low key...we had nominees up for the FedEx NFL Air & Ground Players of the Year award doing some media on Radio Row. Our team also went down to see some of the SB50 sights and enjoy NFL House for lunch.

That night, we party hopped a little bit (even though I was exhausted) and made appearances at both the NFLPA and EA Sports Madden parties. Ludacris and Fall Out Boy played, which was pretty cool.
Friday, I actually did a little work from my hotel from before heading down for a late breakfast. I was excited because Russ got into town around noon...it was so great that he got to come this year, because I was feeling homesick from being away so long by this point. I helped out my teammate Beth with her Antonio Brown player appearances at NFLX while Russ and her husband Albert (who also came into town) wandered around while we finished up work.

That night, we got a night off so the 4 of us headed to dinner down by the Pier at Scoma's. The seafood was great and just how I remembered it from the first time we ate there in 2012. And it was so nice having a night out just the 4 of us! We got to see the harbor and the Bay Bridge all lit up. PLUS, we got back to the hotel just in time to see some amazing fireworks!
Saturday was NFL Honors for me, which was my last event to own and manage for SB50. It was a busy day and me, my support staff headed down early to get our spots on the red carpet for the event. I can't ID many of these players and other celebrities, but it is always fun to be on the carpet while everyone walks down. Carson Palmer (who was not at Honors due being on baby watch with his wife at home) and Adrian Peterson won for Air and Ground.

That's it! My work was finally DONE! I was officially support staff for the rest of the evening. And it felt great!! Now on to the fun!
