Our weekend happenings

This weekend was fairly low-key and that was fine by me. Friday night I met the girls for dinner and drinks while Russ was on Daddy duty. We try to meet monthly but since we missed January, I was really missing these girls! We had an extra great time and we didn't get home until late.

Saturday we went to the Tigers game at noon and took Tyler. The Tigers blew the game to UTEP...it was such an ugly loss. But we did get to see lots of friends, so at least that part was good. We had club level seats that were on the same row as Ashli and Sarah, so we sat by them for the first half. Kate works at the U of M and was hosting prospective high school students in the Memphis suite. We went to visit at halftime and stayed until the game was over.

After the game, we decided to go to Saturday night church so we could sleep in and be lazy on Sunday. Tyler was the only baby in the nursery (crazy!!) and he slept the entire time! He was tired and a little cranky since his naps were messed up by the game earlier, so they put him in the stroller and they rode the halls. That night, Tyler stayed up long enough to see the start of his first NASCAR race - the Budweiser Shootout. Ha! And after he went to bed, I watched the entire race (with a little fast-forwarding thanks to the DVR). What an INSANE race! I am quickly becoming a racing fan and can't wait to go to the Daytona 500 next week with the new job! I felt bad since all Russ wanted to all night was watch a movie (he wanted nothing to do with the race so he played video games), so we watched "Limitless", too. It was really good! All that TV watching meant we didn't get in bed until after midnight.

Tyler did let us sleep late today until after 8a, so that was great! We stayed in, did a few things around the house and had some lazy time, too. We finally retired the bumbo to the attic and broke out the highchair. We also swapped out the snap and go stroller that we kept in my car for the umbrella stroller, since Tyler is plenty big enough for it now. Both were shower gifts just waiting to be used!
Tyler would not look at the camera for a picture, so
we had to settle for a "game watching" shot with Ashli.
Aunt Elisha was DYING to see Tyler!
This is the BEST picture of Tyler and Kate!!
Dr. Shirley (U of M president) loved on Tyler, too.
Big boy in his high chair.
He loved sitting and playing in it so we just gave him some toys.
