Weekend rewind

Russ went out of town this weekend for a fraternity reunion trip to Spring River. It was a day trip that started super early (6a!) and they got home pretty late (almost 10p!) They were smart and rented a bus to get to the river, which meant they could enjoy several adult beverages. Oh geez! Russ actually took a case of beer and I had to remind him that he wasn't in college anymore. At one point he texted me and said he got electrocuted...apparently a storm came out of nowhere while they were on the water and he and several others felt the electric shock when lightening struck the water close by. They all scrambled out and waited for it to pass before continuing. Russ came home feeling pretty bad, which meant he had a really good time. I'm glad he got to have some guy time with his buddies.

I had the kiddos by myself that morning, but Granna came in town to help and visit. We all went to Keller's Cars themed 2nd birthday party while Russ was gone. It was a super cute party and Crystal really outdid herself with all the decorations. In addition to building a "car wash" out of PVC pipe, they also rented a truck for the kids to eat on and had an ice cream truck come to the party! Tyler would not go through the car wash, but had fun riding his motorcycle in the cove. He also enjoyed pizza, stoplight fruit kabobs and a cupcake. He pitched a bloody fit when it was time to go and even had to go to timeout in Keller's yard at one point. Ha!

All the kids enjoying their ice cream truck treats!
Eating a popsicle from the ice cream truck - he loved it!
Enjoying a Lightening McQueen cupcake!
The car wash!!
Birthday boy, Keller, going through the car wash on Mater!
Tyler would not go through, but loved watching all the other kids!
Taking down the car wash with the big truck...needless to say, it was banned from going back through!
Mommy and sweet C watching all the fun!
All the kids got these tire pool floats as a party favor.
The rest of the weekend was spent at home. Russ had never-ending yard work to do and Granna and I took the kids on a neighborhood walk, did laundry and looked after the kids. While both kids napped, Granna and I started working on prep for the fall consignement sale I'm doing. I am excited to get some of this stuff out of our house and make a little bit of money to buy fall clothes, too.
Before our walk...Caroline rode in the double stroller like a BIG girl with no car seat! Yay!
