Trip to Dyersburg

This past Saturday, we planned a long overdue day trip to Dyersburg to visit some of Russ's family. He has an aunt and uncle and several cousins that live there. Russ and I tried to remember the last time we visited and we think it might have been for his 10 year high school reunion. Wow - that was forever ago! Saturday was also St. Patrick's Day, so of course we had to dress appropriately!
Tyler in his green before we left.
He tolerated the shamrocks better than I thought.
On the way, we stopped in Covington to get Tyler's picture made with a live bunny for Easter. He fell asleep on the way and we had to wake him up to change into his outfit. That did not go over well! And, when we put him down for the pictures, he lost it! We let someone else go in front of us while I tried to feed him and calm him down. When it was our turn again, he was still pretty upset and cried on and off, but Emily did manage to get a few serious, non-crying pictures. No smiles, of course!
This is one of the better ones of T,
but the sweet bunny looks asleep!
When we got to Dyersburg, we met Jack, Russ's ex-stepdad that he still keeps in touch with, for Mexican. Tyler did great and tried a lot of new foods - fajita chicken, tomatoes, bell peppers, rice. He was shoveling the food in so fast that he choked and I had to swoop in and get it all out. Of course, this made him throw up! Luckily it didn't make a huge mess and he was fine.

After lunch, we went to Opal and Marvin's house (Russ's aunt and uncle). Beth (their daughter) and Brady (their grandson) also came over to visit. Opal and Marvin got Tyler a gift, which was so nice! They also got out several toys that Brady played with as a baby and even a few things that were Beth's (the rocker and "Bucky" the horse!) We enjoyed playing, visiting and catching up. Of course, Opal had enough food to feed an army, so Tyler had a banana and tried ice cream and Russ had BBQ. We all left full and tired. Tyler, who was way off schedule and didn't nap much, slept all the way home! We had a nice time and are looking forward to our next trip to Dyersburg.
Big boy in the mini rocking chair
Thanks for my gift!!
Trying out Bucky
Watching TV, of course!
Playing with Daddy!
Brady was very into playing with Tyler.
They were so cute together!
Waiting on bananas. We tried out our portable "highchair"
for the first time. Very impressed! It's just fabric that ties
onto a chair and then folds up. Wish I'd thought of it!
