We truly had a great Christmas in Clarksville! We spent all of our time in one place, did plenty of relaxing, wore pjs all day a few times...and it was heavenly!
We got in late Friday night, so we enjoyed bumming around on Saturday morning. Russ and I went to see the long-awaited "The Hobbit" during Tyler's nap. To say that Russ is a HUGE "Lord of the Rings" fan is an understatement. He saw all the other movies at their first showing, so I was surprised he agreed to wait until we had a free sitter on the 2nd weekend it was playing. It was a good, but LONG movie. And I *might* have dozed off for a few minutes towards the beginning. Ha! That night, we took Tyler to see the lights by the river (see previous post) before the family Christmas visiting really kicked in.
My brother and his girlfriend got in late Saturday night and Russ's brother, Joe, came in from Nashville. We enjoyed visiting and watching Tyler play. We played several games that night, as has become our family holiday tradition.

Monday was Christmas Eve and a busy day. Carol and Mark came in from Franklin that morning and Nannie, Tom, Thomas, Zanetta and their kids came over for Christmas Eve lunch around noon. We had our big family Christmas meal with ham and all the fixings. We ate during Tyler's nap time and that actually worked out great because Russ and I both got to take our time eating or once. Once Tyler woke up, we opened family presents. Tyler received several books and Thomas the trains, a Little People train and an REALLY loud police car. Tyler was just infatuated by Mason and I think the feeling was mutual!
Afterwards, Joe headed back to Nashville, and most of the rest of us got ready for mass. We normally send Tyler to childcare during church when we are in Memphis, but that was not an option there and we were anxious to see how he'd do. It was super crowded by the time we got there - luckily we all got seats, but we all had to split up. Tyler made it through a little over half of the service and then Russ had to take him outside. He was not the only one outside and quickly became friends with other moms and dads with toddlers running around, as did Tyler.

We headed back to Mom's after church and attempted to get a few family pictures before we got Tyler ready for bed in his Christmas PJs. After he was down, we played more games as a family, which is always so much fun and something we look forward to every year!
