When Dr. H came in, Tyler was still fussing and screaming. He assured me that this was normal and that the
"terrible 2's" actually start around 18 months. He told me to ignore it and we proceeded to try and have a conversation about his development, though I was very distracted by the chaos! The checkup went well and he is growing as he should. Dr. H was again super pleased with all the words that Tyler knew and said to continue working with him on language development. We talked about his recent obsession with the paci and blankie and decided that while both are completely fine when sleeping, we would try to get rid of the paci before his 2nd birthday. He also said to continue to try getting a veggie into his diet everyday, even though he mostly refuses them.
We talked a lot about how Tyler will adjust to a new baby in the house...he said to keep his schedule and routine as consistent as possible 2 months prior and 2 months after Caroline's arrival. That we should also expect say acting out, since he won't be getting as much attention and to do our best to give him as much 1-on-1 time as we can to make him feel special. He also said that when Tyler visits us at the hospital to have a little gift for him to open and to remember that he misses his Mommy and does not give 2 flips about the baby! Ha!
He only got 1 shot this time and that will be his last (except for flu shots) until he's 5! Yay! We also will only go once a year for checkups now, unless he is sick.
Here are his stats:
Height: 32.50", 54th percentile (54th at 15 months)
Weight: 26 lbs., 8oz., 66th percentile (47th at 15 months)
Head circumference: 47 cm., 27th percentile (20th at 15 months)
