Yesterday we went to Alpine Village which is a free, family event hosted by Trinity Baptist Church. We had never been before and didn't really know what to expect, but I had heard it was a great event. Since it's completely free, they issue tickets in advance and they sell out quickly. So, I got tickets for us and the Matthews' family in early November and I'm SO glad that I did. A lady who was working one of the shoppes and who attends church there said it was only up for 8 days before it sold out.
Probably the neatest thing about the entire event was the pretend snow!! Tyler was very unsure about it at first, but Russ went in and showed him what it felt like and then he had a ball!! Seriously, he would've been happy playing in the snow the entire time. We were all pretty snow covered when we left...I was dumping it out of my shoes and it is all over my house!

It was pretty chaotic at times with all the kids. Good
thing they had separate sides for big and little kids. |
The gym was set up like a old-timey village and had shoppes where the kids could go to do a craft, get a toy or a book. It was really neat! Most of it was over Tyler's head, so we were selective about which shoppes we went into, especially since it was crowded and there were lines outside to get in. I think he will really love this part in a few years.

They also had a great puppet show that was very cute and entertaining. What's even more impressive is that it was entirely put on by church volunteers! It was humorous and had the kids laughing throughout.

We also saw the Living Nativity, though I didn't get any pictures. It was very cute, short and age appropriate, which was nice. The only thing we didn't do was see Santa. The line was just too long and we'd already seen him last week anyway. This really was such a fun event that I hope we can make a tradition each year!!
