Caroline's 9 month checkup

9 months has come and gone (sniff!) so it was time for another checkup for sweet Caroline. This little lady is growing, growing, growing, as you can see from her 9 month stats. She gained 5lbs in the last 3 months and she is up in every category...whoa! This little piggy loves to eat!

Length: 26.5", 19th percentile (9th at 6 months)
Weight: 18 lbs., 6.5oz., 46th percentile (9th at 6 months)
Head circumference: 44cm., 55th percentile (26th at 6 months)

I almost rescheduled her checkup since Caroline was actually not feeling the best and was home with me for the day after being sent home from school with a 102+ fever on Monday. Her fever was down, but she had a rash all over that I wanted to make sure wasn't Hand, Foot and Mouth. (There had been 2 cases in her class.) Dr. H said it looked like it was just a virus and that she had a rash because of it...that seems to be the trend with her when she gets a fever. So, she is not super smiley in these pictures. In fact, she cried a lot and wanted me to hold her most of the appointment, which is a sure sign that she was still feeling puny.

Playing peek-a-boo!

Big stuff developmentally is on the horizon for Miss C. She is a sitting PRO now and is pulling-up-to-stand by holding our fingers like a champ, too. Pulling up on the furniture and cruising around are what she'll be working on in the next few months. And on the eating front, Dr. H said that anything we eat (minus honey) is fair game for Caroline now and that she should be eating 3 food meals a day. Ahh! This totally stresses me out. I am going to have to research the first pick-up foods that we fed to Tyler because I have already forgotten. We did give her some banana puffs, baby yogurt bites and some sweet potato that night and she had an awful allergic reaction!! I called the nurse on call and she said to give her benadryl and just watch it. Other than the EXTREME hyperactivity, she seemed fine.
Enjoying the yummy yogurt bites that could have caused her reaction.

Yep, there's a little sweet potato in her nose!
Check out this crazy rash around her mouth and forehead!

C after her bath and before bedtime while waiting on Daddy to get home with the benadryl.
She kept pulling Tyler's jeans out of the laundry basket and slinging them around. Crazy kid!
Caroline got her first dose of the flu shot when I took Tyler to get his last month. But because she was feeling sick, she was unable to get her 2nd dose this visit like we had planned. Good news that we had no shots; bad news that I have to schedule another visit to get it done next week.
