August Little Things

Wrapping up August with more "little things" that we enjoyed this month...

Back in January, we played the Nashville Escape Game with Joe and Kat. We were super excited when the Memphis Escape Room experience came to town and we booked a fun night out with some friends to try it out. We started the night at Las Delicious for tacos, quac and cheese dip and margaritas and beer and had fun surprising Ashli with some early birthday fun! Any time I can embarrass a friend with the "Happy Birthday" song and a sombrero, you better believe I will!! 😃

Afterwards, we headed to play our game and while it was really fun, we did not escape. Boooo! We honestly weren't even very close to getting out, so that was a bummer. It was pretty hard overall...much harder than the one we played in Nashville. Oh well! We are looking forward to trying another room soon!

In more birthday news, we had fun celebrating Sloan turning the big 4-0!!! He is the first of several friends over the next couple years to celebrate this milestone and Kalista threw him an awesome party to celebrate!! She is the queen of party throwing and all the food, fun decor and even hiring photographer made the night really special. There was no shortage of alcohol so there was definitely some "Roll On" singing and shots to be had. We left a little earlier than Russ would have liked because he had just a liiiiiitle too much to drink. Ha! He certainly paid for it the next day but he said it was worth it to celebrate big! Happy 40th to Sloan! Russ isn't too far behind you!!

How Russ spent most of the morning after all the fun. Caroline clearly wasn't keen on letting him sleep and brought him her blanket and other random things...Ha!
We also said farewell to our sweet neighbors the Glasses this month. They sold their house, moved their family to Colierville and we are so very sad! Bennett and Tyler are just a few months apart and they play together so well. We had a few neighbors over for an end-of-the-year pool party and pizza for a proper send off. We will miss the Glasses being just up the street but know that we will see them soon!!

Popsicles for the win!
Caroline, Margo, Tyler, Preston, Bennett and Libby
We are still getting Tyler's elbow checked out. He is progressing great though he still has the slight palsy. We'll go back in 6 weeks for hopefully our final appointment. But overall, he is doing great!

In the middle of all the August activity, I have been consignment sale prepping! A special thanks to my dear Mom because there is no way I could do it without her! She has helped me get most everything ironed and I have been working away to hang and tag everything. Hoping for another big year of sales!

The kids have both had a very successful first month at school. I am still loving both of their teachers, particularly Mrs. Madden, Caroline's teacher. She is great with texting updates and pictures throughout the day. I am also room mom for both classes, so that is keeping me busy, too.

The 4's classes practicing for their 9/11 chapel service with the Kindergartners.

"Sticky hands, sticky hands" as she likes to say.
There is a big push on pottying in Caroline's class. No success just yet though.

Caroline is pretty funny these days at age 2.5. She has such a big and silly personality and loves making people laugh and giving hugs and kisses. This month she has been experimenting and has gotten out of her bed a few times at bed time and nap time, successfully opened her bedroom door and tried to open the door to the living room! She has also started saying, "I sorry, I don't do a-gin" with lots of hugs and kisses! She is such a little mess!!

I added a few few videos to the end. Starting off with a little TIGERS love from Caroline!!

Caroline definitely takes after her Mama in that she loves to sing anywhere she goes! Here are a few samplings from this month...
