Tyler Glenn - You Are Four Months Old!
- You weigh 11 lbs, 5.5 oz., according to our sick visit this week. We have your 4 month well visit (and shots - boo!) next week, so I will post the full stats afterwards.
- You are wearing mostly 0-3 month clothing and can wear some 3-6 month things in the brands that run small (Polo, GAP, Carters).
- You wear a size 1 diaper, though I think that will be changing soon.
- We are still working on the nighttime sleep thing. We start our bedtime routine between 7-7:30pm and you are usually in bed by 8-8:30pm. You usually wake up once to eat between midnight and 2am. Then you go in your swing to sleep until I wake you in the morning. This month we hope to break you of the swing at night. We also can't wait for you to sleep all through the night. Your parents are tired!
- You have lots of nicknames! Daddy calls you his "little buddy" and Mommy has several nicknames for you...pumpkin, monkey, booger, little bit.
- Things you LOVE:
- Your swing - you are in it every day and it has seriously saved our sanity. The next best purchase were the 2 sets of rechargeable batteries we bought for it. They have paid for themselves 10 times over!
- Sitting in your bumbo, especially in the kitchen while Daddy and I are busy doing things.
- Your Playskool kick start gym and your vibrating infant seat, but neither are quite as fun as they used to be.
- Your favorite toy is still probably your talking and singing dog. You also like your baseball and caterpillar rattles.
- You still like being carried in the Bjorn when we go places. This is usually Daddy's job and he loves it.
- Taking baths - you love to sit in the warm water and look at the lights in the bathroom.
- Watching TV, much to my dismay.
- You love to be talked to and held. In fact, this alone will usually make you happy when you are upset.
- You are quite the snuggler. During our bedtime routine and during the middle of the night feeds are the best time to get snuggles. You lay your head on my shoulder and I press my check to yours and we rock. I love it!
- Watching Bonnie play - she can get you to light up and squeal in delight better than anyone!
- You love when I sing to you. Your favorite song is still "The Wheels on the Bus Go 'Round and 'Round". I've also started singing "Good Morning to You" when we get up...you love it, too.
- Things you are getting better at:
- You are getting so much better at tummy time and we are so proud! You are turning your head from side to side and are starting to push up on your arms.
- You are becoming more tolerant of your car seat and will often fall asleep on car rides now. You also love "froggie", the hanging frog that we have on your seat that jingles. You can grab it now and will often "hold" it for the entire ride.
- NEW things you've done:
- You still love to suck your thumb and fingers, but you started taking a pacifer! We love it for car rides and other times when you are fussy.
- You now sit forward in the jogging stroller without your car seat but with a head support. You seem to like this better and don't cry as much on stroller rides.
- Playing in the exersaucer - you and Daddy put together and played in the exersaucer this month, though you are a little small for it and it is still a little advanced for you.
- You are starting to laugh out loud when we tickle you. We love hearing your sweet little laugh.
- You are super smiley, though we didn't get any smiles during your 4 month pictures with Miss Cassie. I still can't wait to see them!
Here are some of my favorite pictures of you from the past month:
