Winter Wonderland!

It finally snowed! And it was a really good snow of 3-4", too! This is by far the most snow our kids have ever seen and we were chomping at the bit to get outside and play! There was enough snow that schools were cancelled...and this time, Russ even stayed home! Though he was feeling under the weather, so he didn't end up playing too much with us. Granna was in town and was able to join in on the fun, though...and it was nice to have help with the kids.

It was cold (wind chill in the single digits), so we waited until almost 11a before venturing outside. We played a little in our yard before venturing over to the neighborhood hill to sled. There were so many kids! I've never seen it that full. Tyler didn't want to go, so I took Caroline and we made 1 trip down the hill. The snow was so deep, that it was hard to get the sled to go. Sledding was actually better last time on the ice.

Making a snow angel!

Caroline was over pictures at this point.

Preston and Caroline getting a ride back to our house on the sled.
Caroline sat on the sled in front of our house forever. She was
not really a fan of the snow. It was hard for her to walk in.
Russ did make it out for a little bit and took Tyler down the hill once before heading back inside. He took Caroline with him since she was over the cold by then.

Justin got out the 4-wheeler and pulled Bennett on the back of it.
Despite Bennett's coaxing, Tyler did not want to try it!

Tyler and Russ' one trip down the hill.

We found some friends and ventured back to our yard to play some more. The snow was actually packable in the sun, so we started building our first snowmen! I love how they turned out. Bennett and Tyler had a ball rolling their snowballs all over the yard. We also had a snow ball fight, too.

These 2 started walking back to our house after the sled down the hill. I thought this was so cute!

Delivering the mail in the snow! She had chains on her back tires!

Granna hard at work building a snowman.

They were trying to get the head to stay on. :)
Justin and the boys putting the final touches on the snowman!

I went back out and added a hat for our other snowman. The snowman on the left has
plastic pieces from a kit I picked up at a consignment sale. I think he looks so cute!
Tyler said that we were building Frosty!

We ventured outside to swing for a little bit before going inside.

We spent almost 2 hours outside before heading in. We enjoyed our first snow cream of the season and some popcorn before getting ready for naps. It was a fun REAL snow day!!

Enjoying their snow cream!
And of course their popcorn...which is a staple in our house on snow days!
