Tyler Glenn - You are 5 months old!!
(This post is a little late, but better late than never!)
- We had a sick visit earlier this month and you weighed 13 lbs, 5.5 oz. And after today's sick visit you weighed 14 lbs., 3.5 oz. You are really putting on the pounds and are getting some super cute fat rolls and chubby cheeks. Finally! I bet you will be close to the 10th percentile for weight when we go for your 6 month check up next week.
- You are still in 3-6 month clothes but are starting to outgrow things. That makes me sad because it means you are growing up.
- You wear size 2 diapers now.
- You slept through the night from 8p - 7:30a for the first time this month on 11/19/11...a day we will never forget!! Hooray! But you haven't done it since. Oh well. Most of the time you still wake up 1-2 times at night. The paci and your new mobile (with lights and music that plays longer) helps to soothe you back to sleep. We did mostly break your sleeping-in-the-swing habit this month, so that is great! Mid-month, we also stopped feeding you at night and you are doing GREAT with that! If we can just get you well, we are gonna do CIO at night to see if we can get you sleeping better.
- You went to your first Memphis Tigers basketball game and slept almost the entire game in your car seat! In fact, we didn't even get you out of your car seat (even though Mom wanted to SO badly). Mom and Dad were so proud! We didn't get any pictures though, but will next time!
- You will go to anyone and still love being held. When we take you places you are happily "passed" around from person, but you always light up when you see or hear mommy and daddy...melts our heart and makes us feel so special.
- Eating!! This is why you are packing on the pounds! You have tried rice cereal, oatmeal, sweet potatoes, squash, bananas, green beans, peaches, pears, carrots and peas. Peas and green beans are your least favorite, but you will eat them if I mix them with cereal or sweet potatoes. You are a complete mess after eating and try help by grabbing the spoon. Also, if I am not fast enough, you start grunting for more. And you usually cry when it is all gone! Mom has also made some of your baby food. So far she has made green beans, carrots and bananas.
- Riding in the car - you used to hate this, but now you love it and usually fall asleep. Especially when we put your blue and brown minky blanket over you to keep you warm. You snuggle it up to your face and start snoozing. We also put a new activity bar on your seat and you enjoy playing with it, too.
- Playing Peek-a-boo is so much fun! You pull the blanket or burp cloth off your face and just squeal with laughter. It is really funny when you start laughing while your face is still covered.
- Your exersaucer is in the kitchen and you love to play in it. Your favorite activities on it are the alligator and the dragonfly. You play in one at school, too.
- Your favorite toy is still probably your talking and singing dog. You have started "dancing" whenever the music comes on and it is so funny. You also like "Sofie", your giraffe teether. She is easy for you to hold and you like to chew on her.
- Bath time is still one of your favorite times, but lately you have started laughing hysterically when I put lotion on you after your bath and before bed. It is so cute and fun!
- Bonnie is SOOO entertaining and you LOVE to watch and follow her. You have started reaching out to pet her and she will lick your fingers.
- NEW things you've done:
- You are reaching for and grabbing EVERYTHING! And as soon as you get it, you put it directly in your mouth!
- You are sitting up all by yourself! You went from only lasting for a few seconds over Thanksgiving to sitting for several minutes at a time!
You are SUCH a happy and smiley baby now and rarely cry unless you are hungry or tired. Dad and I love to take you places because you are generally pretty easy....for now!! We love introducing you to new things and Thanksgiving was an extra special day for us this year because of you. We cannot wait to celebrate Christmas with you.
