We took a mini-vacation to Kentucky this past weekend to visit family. On the way there, we stopped at Dinosaur World. We have seen the obnoxiously big dinosaur advertising this place from the interstate every time we go to Louisville and finally decided to stop. It came at the perfect time during our trip, too - it was right around lunchtime, we had been on the road for a couple hours and all needed a stretch break, plus I needed to feed Caroline.

I honestly did not have high expectations, but was pleasantly surprised! This place was so neat and so clean! And we went at the perfect time and were practically the only people there! There were a ton of picnic tables in the shade that were perfect for eating our drive-thru Wendy's lunch. While I finished feeding Caroline, Tyler enjoyed running around and playing with the bead mazes that they had on several tables, digging in the sand in the Boneyard and playing on the dinosaur-themed playground. They had a dinosaur video playing in this neat cave...we didn't stay to watch it, but Tyler loved running in and out of it.

This dinosaur game would talk when you walked by and Tyler thought it was hilarious! |

There was a dinosaur that you could put your head inside so that it would look like it's eating you when you took a picture. Tyler wouldn't do it, so Russ took a picture from inside! |

The dinosaur hike was really cool, too. Yes, they were just big, painted, concrete dinosaurs, but the way they were staged in the woods made the experience a lot more realistic. I just kept thinking, "what if I ran into one of these on a walk in the woods?!" Tyler had not had a nap, so he only lasted about 10 minutes into the walk before he fell asleep.

| Seriously, isn't this a little creepy?! |

| He was worn out from no nap and playing hard! |
 |
| These were SO tall that I couldn't get a picture of the big ones! |
 |
I love this one...he is practically falling out of the stroller while there is a T-Rex about to gobble us up! |
 |
| I wish he would've been awake to see the really big ones! |
Since Tyler was asleep anyway, we hurried through the end of the walk to get back in time for the fossil dig. We woke Tyler up to dig and he found several cool fossils, including real shark's teeth! He was a little young to really comprehend the fossils, but he loved digging in the sand!

After diaper changes and a quick stop in the gift shop for Tyler to pick out a dinosaur souvenir, we were back on our way. We all agreed that it was such a fun place to stop and we will definitely go back!

He was so excited to discover that it squeaked when you squeezed it! |
 |
| He thought making the dinosaur "talk" was so funny! |
