Caroline went for her 15 month doctor checkup last week. It was a little delayed since my work travels had me reschedule it 2 times before. She was a little wild thing in the waiting room, running all over and being extra chatty. She loved hearing her voice echo so she screamed out a lot to hear it! Ha! Our doctor's office has a few kid toys to play with, lots of chairs and a huge fish tank that kept her occupied until it was her turn. Oh, how this girl always keeps me running and on my toes!

| I think she climbed up in every chair there, twice! |

Caroline did pretty well during her measurements this time, though she does not like to lie down and be still! There were way less tears than last time during the weighing, too. She has grown like a little weed since her last visit!! Dr. H was really pleased and said she may not be as petite as we initially thought. But she is definitely a little chunk...but when else can you be chubby and get away with it?? I have to say, I love squeezing those thunder thighs!! And her height and weight are proportionate, so nothing to worry about there.
Length: 30.25", 39th percentile (16th at 12 months)
Weight: 24 lbs., 65th percentile (46th at 12 months)
Head circumference: 46 cm., 52nd percentile (47th at 12 months)
We talked about the usual things...sleep (still great), walking (more like running now!), eating (she's still picky with veggies, but baby girl can put down some green beans). When we got to talking, I expressed that she is not nearly as verbal as Tyler was at this point. He said she is completely normal and that 1) Tyler was just a very verbal child, extremely early and 2) since she is the 2nd child, that Tyler is likely doing a lot of talking for her. By 18 months, he wants her to have 10 words and I think she will. Just this weekend, she started saying night-night and no-no-no. Of course she babbles all the time...it just doesn't sound like words yet.
Developmentally, Caroline can do so much as a 15 month old now. She is a climbing fool and get herself up on most anything. Her favorite thing to to is to climb from her Pottery Barn chair onto the couch and pillows. Tyler definitely was not a climber this early and it is throwing us for a loop! She can understand things we ask her to do and will do them...like when we tell her to eat instead of playing with her food, go get her shoes, etc. She can also tell us what she wants more now and does it my pointing and grunting until she gets it! She LOVES to brush her teeth at bedtime and she is starting to be able to sit still to read a book with Tyler. She loves to dance and will start the second she hears music. She loves to sing songs and will enthusiastically clap and say "yay!" when we finish one she knows. She can stack blocks and loves baby dolls. Her best friend and idol is definitely her big brother, Tyler...she worships him!
The 15 month checkup is the worst because they get 3 shots AND have their finger pricked to test iron levels. The finger prick went about how I expected...she hated every second of it. But she didn't hate the band-aid nearly as much as Tyler did. The shots were pretty awful, too, but she got better once I could pick her up and give her water from my water bottle (which she loves!! Ha!)

| Trying to eat the paper always. |
 |
| "TOUCHDOWN!" |
 |
| Not happy about her finger prick... |
 |
| All dressed after shots and still showing me her hurt finger. |
 |
| And destroying the paper...love this little girl so much! |
