Jammy Cocoa Christmas

We started a new tradition this year - Jammy Cocoa Christmas. Well it really was a morph of an old tradition and with a new twist that I adapted from a blog I follow. It's basically driving around seeing Christmas lights in your PJs after stopping for some coffee or cocoa. Here are the official "rules" from the blog I follow. We pretty much followed them to a T.

Is it driving you crazy that Pajama is spelled wrong in the first bullet, too?!
We have been driving around seeing lights for several years now, so that was not new to our family. We have found that the best lights are out in Bartlett so we got decked out in our PJs and headed to a Starbucks on the way. I did not think that there would be a lot people in the Starbucks on a random Tuesday night, but oh there were! And some were trying to conduct business and study while my wild crew was excitedly bouncing off the walls. Ooops. The kids got hot chocolate in their cups and each got to pick a treat. Tyler chose a cake pop and Caroline a snowman cookie. Russ and I both got coffee and shared a cookie. I should note that we were all in our PJs, but the kids and Russ had coats on because it was cold. I was sporting my robe - yes in Starbucks - because I am a good sport. Not sure why I didn't insist that Russ also wear his, too...

Now onto the lights! Bartlett peeps really do it right - there are several houses that go all out and sync their lights to music and everything. We visited some of our old favorites from the last few years and we found some new favorites, too. Both the kids were really into it, which made it even more fun! And since we went on a random weekday night, the lines to see the lights weren't super long either. We took turns letting the kids get out and sit upfront to watch the houses that had the longer displays synced to music. Getting them back into their car seats before we drove to the next house was a bit of a struggle.

Family selfie! Ready to see the lights!

This "ditto" sign at the neighbors house was hilarious!
This house was decked out in Disney! The kids were stoked!
Caroline screamed "PUPPIES!!" as soon as she saw it.

We obviously had some popcorn in the car as a snack. Ha!

They were hanging halfway out of the car! Ha!
This house was our new favorite find this year! It was awesome in person!

What a super fun night! We all had the best time!
