Other than spending time at the beach or in the pool, our week was fairly low-key...just the way we like it! We played games as a family a couple nights, but mainly after the kids went to bed, we just talked, read and watched TV. It was nice to move at a little slower than pace than is our normal.
We decided to have professional pictures taken by Amy Susi of Susi Photography again. It had been 2 years since we last saw her and Tyler was just 14 months old and I was 20 weeks pregnant with Caroline. This year, she had 2 kiddos to try to get to smile. But she is a serious pro and came armed with tons of smarties....and our kids LOVED that! I have only this one sneak peak to share so far, but it is a good one! We will likely wait another few years before doing beach pics again, so I hope we get lots more good ones from this session.
We also took the kids out one night to go crabbing. I don't think either one really realized what we were going to do, but Tyler caught on quickly. He LOVED hunting for the little, fast white crabs in the water! Caroline just loved running around and playing in the sand. We caught a bucket full of crabs, but kicked over the bucket right as we were going to head up and show the family and they scurried every where! Oh well!

One day it was pretty dreary and a little chilly, so Granna and I went on the hunt for a playground with the kids. We knew there was an awesome one in Baytowne in Sandestin, but when we got there we saw it was closed for repair. Such a bummer! We walked around a little bit and then headed to the outlet that has a little playground where the kids had fun playing. Tyler and I snuck away to the Disney store and he picked out a Dusty plane for himself and a Sophia the First doll for Caroline.
Towards the end of the week, we ate out as an entire family at Stinky's Fish Camp. Every year we talk about going somewhere else, but then we always end up at Stinky's. It is so yummy and very kid-friendly. We got there early and didn't have to wait - bonus! The kids were a little rowdier than normal, but we all really enjoyed our meal. I didn't get any pics of us at the restaurant, but we did take the kids down for some pics on the beach after we got back.
I absolutely hate packing up to head home from a trip to the beach...there is sand everywhere! We try to get all our laundry done before heading home, so that is one less thing we have to worry about. On our last night, Caroline ate a ton of popcorn which irritated her digestive system and gave her the world's worst diaper rash. It was awful and caused us to have to stop a lot on the way home to make sure her bottom was ok. Poor baby. It took us almost 9 hours to get home and we were all glad to get back! Until next time, 30A!!
