Labor Day Trip to Franklin

We spent Labor Day in Franklin again this year and had a great time! It is a nice little getaway where we can see both family and friends, which is so great.

We stayed with Aunt Carol and Uncle Mark again, and like always, they were the perfect hosts! Granna came in town for the weekend, too. We did not have to cook a thing and there was always someone there to help out with the kids. Russ and I were even able to relax some and read and nap, which almost never happens and was SO wonderful!

We went to the pool for a little while on Saturday morning before naps...it was so nice because we were the only people there! The kids loved the baby pool best, because they could stand up in it.

Aunt Carol got a super fun bubble machine that they LOVED!

Walking/riding to the pool.

After naps, we headed over to the Casesar's house to let the kids play and visit with them and the Daniels. It had been a full year since we had seen these families and we were happy for the visiting time with them. We finally got to meet sweet Caleb, who was in the hospital the last Labor Day...that child is a living miracle and his Mommy is a Saint! We also got to meet sweet Mary Claire, the Caesar's newest addition. She is the cutest, smiliest, little butterball I have ever seen!

Beautiful Mary Claire!

The Caesars and the Daniels share a backyard, which is so fun! They actually share with
several neighbors...they don't have fences and the kids just run around freely and play.

All the Caesars (minus John who was at baseball practice), the Daniels and us!
As you can see, Tyler was not so into taking the group picture! Ha!
We took the kids back to Carol and Mark's where they kept them for the night, Darci and Ashley got babysitters and all the adults went out for dinner! Sweet Caleb was with us, of course, but it was his first time at a restaurant (besides eating outside at Chick-fil-a) ever! And the first time Ashley had been out in a very, very long time. After dinner, we went back to the Daniel's house and talked until after midnight! I could have stayed 2 hours longer, but Russ was tired and poor Mark was waiting up for us to let us in their house! It had just been so long since we had gotten together so we had lots to say! It's crazy that we have been friends for 17 years!

(Excuse the awful BB phone pics...)

Caleb with his Mommy (Ashley) and Daddy (Zack). I don't know how these 2
do it with 4 other kids and all of Caleb's special needs. They are amazing!
Long time friends! Ashley, Caleb, Zack, Greg, Russ, Me and Darci.
Russ thought this beer was hilarious.

Sunday was a heavenly lazy day at Carol and Mark's house. Family from Kentucky (Joe Pat, Pauline, Frankie and Margaret) were also in town for the long weekend, so we had fun visiting with them, too. On Monday, Granna and Carol took the kids back to the pool while Russ and I packed up...I felt like we brought our entire house for a 3 day stay!

Some of our very favorites all in one picture!
I really can't say enough how much fun we had. We are so grateful!!
