This was a pretty easy appointment. She stood on the scale just fine on her own for her weight and did pretty well for her length and head measurements...though she didn't love having to be still. She is a big girl now and didn't have to get undressed for the first time at a well visit. Hooray! That is always such a pain! Here are her stats for this visit. She should grow taller and leaner over this next year, not gaining too much more weight. It is hard to believe that Tyler weighs just 4lbs more than her.
Length: 33.750", 40th percentile (50th at 18 months)
Weight: 29.2 lbs., 78th percentile (75th at 18 months, but was without clothes)
Head circumference: 47.50cm., 50th percentile (62nd at 18 months)
She read books while we waited for Dr. H, which wasn't too long. As soon as he walked in the door, she clung to me and starting crying...she just does not like the doctors. :)
Everything checked out great in her appointment. We discussed introducing the potty...just having her sit on it and get used to it. Shoot me now. This was the hardest thing for Tyler. Dr. H said that is could be much easier (because Caroline is a girl) or be just as difficult (because she is 2nd born). Let's hope for easier!! We also talked about her speech and vocabulary. I said that I was pleased in the number of words she has gained in the past 6mo, but that her words just aren't very clear. I asked if I should be concerned and he didn't think so, but said to work with her on imitating and trying to get her to say words correctly. I want to keep a close watch on it to make sure she is making progress there.
We don't have to go back again until 3, except for sick visits and flu shots in the fall. Hooray for my growing, healthy girl!
