What's Buzzing with the Brasfields: Easter Fun

On Saturday night, we started our Easter celebrating with a little Easter egg dying fun. I had seen on Pinterest that you can hard boil eggs in the oven at 350* for 25 minutes in a muffin pan, so I tried it out. I never know how long to boil them and my eggs always end up cracking, but this worked great! Supposedly, oven eggs are also easier to peel, too, but I haven't tried that yet.

Tyler was wearing a white shirt so that came off immediately because I knew it would've been covered in dye! He had fun picking up the eggs and dunking them in the dye. He wanted to keep adding eggs even when there were already eggs in the cups! He also enjoyed turning the eggs (which got very messy!) so the color was somewhat even. He was VERY proud of the end result and his dyed Easter eggs!!

On Sunday afternoon, we hosted our neighbor friends for an Egg Hunt! We had 16 adults and 13 kids in our house...and 3 babies on the way! I am so excited for more neighborhood babies so Caroline will have some friends her age. Let's hope that at least one of them is a little girl!! Our playroom saw a lot of action before the egg hunting began. Tyler was watching all the kids like a hawk at first while they were playing with his toys, but he mellowed out and had a lot of fun. It had rained on and off all weekend and was cold and windy outside, so we ended up egg hunting inside. The kids didn't seem to mind so much, though! And watching him and the other little kids egg hunt was so funny! We had "practiced" with Tyler earlier that day so he'd know what to do and he picked it up so fast. He ran around excitedly finding all the eggs and saying their color as he picked them up. It was supposed to be a 12 egg limit per kid, but somehow Tyler ended up way more than that! We absolutely love our neighbors and hope to make this an annual event!
