While Mom and Dad are Away...

...the kids will PLAY!

The kiddos stayed with Granna in Clarksville while we ventured down south to Curacao. It was the first longer and relaxing (our Super Bowl trip did not count as relaxing!) getaway we've taken without kids since before Caroline was born. It was very nice to have time to ourselves and not have to chase anyone. God Bless that Mother of mine for keeping them for us!!

I had my work phone turned on for international service so we were able to get emails and call to check in. Both of the kids were happy as larks while we were gone and enjoyed playing with all the fun toys at Granna's house. It rained pretty much every day but they still managed to squeeze in some play and pool time outside and some movies inside when it was too wet to go out. Aunt Carol took a day off from work and came to visit, too.

Caroline loves her puddle jumper and would put it on by herself in the house.

Since Joe and Kathleen got married on June 7th, we missed Tyler's actual birthday. When we called Tyler to wish him Happy Birthday, he declared that he was still 2 and not 3 yet. (He has been saying he is almost 3 for months.) It wasn't until the next day that he finally decided he would be 3 years old. Oh that crazy kid has a mind of his own!

Of course, we celebrated in advance, but Granna still got a cake and had a fun little family party in Clarksville. Granna had a Cars themed cake made at Sam's and they grilled our hamburgers and hot dogs with Nannie, PaPa, Aunt Carol and Uncle Mark. When Granna went to get the cake she accidently dropped it on the floor! Mom was SO upset and was afraid Tyler would be too, but he told her it was ok. They scraped it up and Tyler was just as happy eating part of it that did not touch the floor.

Opening presents from Nannie.

He got a bunch of new red cars from Nannie and Papa and a new soccer ball
and bases from Aunt Carol and Uncle Mark. And some college money, too.
The cake on the floor!!
The after math of the cake...oh well!
Tyler deciding that he is 3!

This baby girl is obsessed with shoes and LOVES to put them on her hands!
It wasn't until the morning that we came home that Tyler actually asked where we were for the first time. The next morning, Tyler came into our room bright and early and was SO HAPPY to see us. He called Granna in and said, "LOOK! It's my Mommy and Daddy!" Caroline was excited, too, and she would not let me put her down all day or she would cry. Sweet baby girl!
