We went to Dyersburg this past weekend to attend Russ' 20th High School reunion. We didn't leave until mid-morning on Saturday because I wanted to meet Heather for our 5 mile half marathon training run. And we had to pack....it's amazing the amount of stuff we have to take with 2 kids for an overnight trip. And I had just unpacked from the beach, too. #Ihatepacking
We stayed with Russ' cousin Patty (his Mom's first cousin) and her husband Jimmy. Our kids are going to call them Aunt Patty and Uncle Jimmy. They have 6 grandkids, so there were lots of new toys to play with. Patty and Jimmy are UT fans and while "orange is yucky" (according to Tyler with some brainwashing by Daddy), he loved all the T's everywhere! We visited with them for a bit while Caroline got a quick nap and Tyler had some quiet time on the iPad.
Then we headed over to see Russ' Aunt Opal (his Dad's sister) and Uncle Marvin. It had been last Thanksgiving since we had seen them and Opal kept commenting on how much Caroline had grown. They had fun toys at their house, too, and of course Opal was armed with lots of snack food for the kids, as always. We had a fun, quick visit and Opal sent us home with big pumpkin cookies for the kids to decorate.
We headed back to Patty and Jimmy's to get ready for the reunion. We were able to get the kids to bed before we left so that made it easier on our babysitters. Tyler went to slept in a spare bedroom and Caroline in a pack 'n play in our room, but we planned to move Tyler to his cot in our room when we got home.

There were several weekend activities, but we only went to the gathering on Saturday night so we could have time to visit with family. The attire was deamed "semi-formal" in true Dyersburg fashion, but people really wore everything. Not everyone was there that Russ was hoping to see, but he still had a really good time seeing people from his past. I didn't know anyone but it wasn't too bad making small talk for a few hours for Russ' sake.

The next morning, we were woken up early by our 2 kiddos since we were all sleeping in the same room! We moved a little slow, ate breakfast and packed up. The kids had fun playing outside while we loaded the car. It was a really nice visit and I know Russ was glad to get back to Dyersburg.

| Caroline is obsessed with birds, so Patty's bird cabinet was a hit! |

| She kept trying to eat it! |

Trying to get the kids to stand still for a photo with Aunt Patty and Uncle Jimmy was a little bit challenging. |
 |
| Caroline just wanted to get down and play. Ha! |

Later that night, after we got home and after dinner, we let the kids decorate and eat their pumpkin cookies from Opal. I was in charge of the icing but Tyler put all the candies on his by himself. Caroline was really only into eating hers. Ha!
