Pumpkin Carving

We got a little ambitious this year and decided to carve an Olaf pumpkin. Russ is the master carver in the family and every year, his skills get better and better.

Tracing the template on the pumpkin.
We thought the kids would have fun helping to gut the pumpkin, but Tyler didn't want to help this year and said the "pumpkin guns" were "yucky". Though he was really interested in the seeds.  I took Caroline's dress off after dinner thinking that she would be a complete mess and INSIDE the pumpkin, but surprisingly she wanted nothing to do with it either! She touched it a few times and made hilarious faces to show her disgust and then kept pointing to the bowl of pumpkin guts saying "EWWWW"! Ha!

Once the carving started, Tyler was very interested! He loved all the fun carving tools and even helped Russ poke out the eyes and part of the nose. During the carving, Caroline was eating the spare tools and climbing on things, per usual. Oh, and she kept putting her hands in the back of her diaper which made it really saggy and gave her plumber's crack...Ha!

Olaf looks great and I think our neighborhood trick-or-treaters will love him!
