What's Buzzing with the Brasfields: Halloween Eve

Halloween is almost here and we spent our Halloween Eve celebrating in a big way!

The kids both had school parties...and the kids wore their Halloween best to celebrate. Tyler's class had a healthy Fall Feast and the kids got to suggest what to bring, which included everything from pumpkin muffins, raisins, cheese sticks, apple cider, grapes and strawberries. I coordinated Caroline's class party as room mom and they had a mix of sweet and healthy treats.

I picked the kids up early from school to head back to FedEx for our work trick-or-treating. Since we skipped Zoo Boo earlier in the month due to rain, this was the first event where the kids wore their costumes. Caroline was Aurora from Sleeping Beauty and Tyler picked Superman! We met up with Angela and Cooper and walked around together. The kids had fun (though it was disappointing to see how much smaller it was this year). Caroline screamed in pure terror a few times over some really scary decorations and costumes. Poor kid.

We headed home to rest and eat dinner before joining the Whitleys back at CtK for their annual trunk-or-treat. Russ and I joined the kids in dressing up....I was the Maleficent to Caroline's Princess Aurora and Russ was Clark Kent to Tyler's Superman! The event grew a little too much for our liking and was CRAZY crowded. Someone put it on the East Memphis Moms site that it was free and the whole city showed up! The kids still had a blast...their most favorite and memorable part being playing on the giant slide and the big kids playground. We did some trunk-or-treating but it was so crowded we didn't get through to everyone. It was still a fun night to break in our costumes and get some trick-or-treating in in case the rain does not hold off tomorrow!! The kids have enough candy for days!!
