Christmas Day

Christmas morning was great! Tyler woke up early, but Granna was able to keep him in her room until about 6:50a. We got Caroline and woke up Uncle Brian (who didn't want to miss the fun) and heading to the tree to see what the big guy brought! Tyler got a lego train (which was his only consistent Santa request), a cash register, Lincoln Logs and an Olaf pillow! He also got a new balance bike from Granna. Caroline got a monogrammed doll cradle (that was mine as a baby, but Santa gave it a new paint job), a matching highchair, Anna and Sven dolls and a Sofia pillow. They got loads of other gifts, too, from us, Uncle Brian and Granna. Russ and I were pretty spoiled, too. I got a new bracelet and rain boots and lots of necessities for the king bed we plan to buy in the new year. Russ got lots of books and a couple new video games. It was a great Christmas all around!

She got tons of new necklaces and bracelets!

Uncle Brian gave Tyler a Jake pirate ship and all the figures.
Uncle Brian gave Caroline characters from Frozen and Sofia the First...her favorites!

Opening a Tiger football from Caroline; Tyler gave Caroline a mooshka doll.
Tyler found the Christmas pickle that Santa hid on the tree and the money that came with it!
Now for the videos we took of the morning! Caroline was a little overwhelmed at first and started crying at all of the activity. I loved when Tyler noticed that the cookies for Santa were all gone. And his word of the morning was "cool"!! And he was the most excited for candy in his stocking! Ha!

Aunt Carol, Uncle Mark, Nannie and Tom came over around lunch and we had fun playing with them and opening more presents! They kids got sleeping bags from Nannie and Tom. They also gave Caroline Sofia dress up shoes and Tyler a green monster truck, to which he responded "that's what I needed!!" Tyler got an awesome crane trunk that he can put together and take apart and Caroline got a big Olaf from Carol and Mark! They loved everything!

Caroline opening her new sleeping bag!
Checking out her Sofia shoes.
...and wearing them around the house! She is such a girly girl.
Building his crane truck with Daddy.
Love these 3!
That night, we went down to see the lights on the river, which has become our tradition. We also sang Happy Birthday to Jesus and enjoyed some cake!

We played on the playground for a bit before we headed home.

Carol and Mark spent the night and once we got the kids to bed, the grown ups had WAY too much fun playing the new game I got for Christmas, Cards Against Humanity. We laughed so much my sides and cheeks hurt! That game is SO wrong...we had to screen the cards a little before we played with family.

It was such a fun day and night spent with family!!
