We spent Saturday enjoying all Downtown has to offer at Christmastime. Pop Pop was in town, too, to celebrate Christmas with us. We started at the Peabody, which was beautifully decorated for Christmas, and saw their Candy Land gingerbread house display. We also ventured up to the rooftop for the first time and visited the ducks at their palace, aka where they live when they are not swimming in the lobby fountain. We came back down and got a spot on the red carpet and waited for the ducks to march. Tyler was so excited to see the elevator count down! They were in a hurry to get to the fountain and Tyler was in a hurry to see them, too. We saw a few friends, too, which made it even more fun!

After the ducks, the adults enjoyed a cocktail from the lobby bar while the kids had a snack. Then we went on a horse-drawn carriage ride around downtown before headed to the Majestic for Brunch with Santa! I was super bummed not to get any pictures of us with the horse and carriage. Oh well.

The Majestic was packed and their Santa brunch sells out every year. It was our first time to go and we had fun. Not only was Santa there, but so was Mrs. Claus, Grizz girls, Rocky the Redbird and Jerry "The King" Lawler (ha!) They had Christmas movies playing on the big screen and Christmas music playing, too. For as crowded as it was, I was shocked that we were seated so quickly, that our service was excellent and our food came fast, too. We got visits at our table from all the special guests except for Santa. There were so many kids vying to see him that we had to hit him up on the way out. Oh well. It was still fun and something we would probably do again.

After brunch we walked over to FedExForum to watch the Tigers play. We decided to skip naps and chance it with both kids. They did really well, all things considered, though Caroline gave me a workout trying to keep her seated. :) We left midway through the 2nd half and both kids crashed in the car. When we got home around 4p, we ALL crashed until about 6p for late naps! Another fun and busy Saturday in the books!
