Caroline's baptism

This weekend was one to remember. We spent it with family celebrating Caroline's baptism at our church, Hope Presbyterian.

Granna came back into town on Friday and we hung out at home. Tyler came home from daycare very lethargic having not eaten much that day. Sure enough he had a fever that eventually got to 104.1!! We had to wake him up and give him a bath to help get it down. He woke the next morning fever-free thankfully, but was still a little under the weather. I'm not sure if it was a 24-hour fever virus or maybe that he's cutting his 2 year molars??

Aunt Carol and Uncle Mark came in town on Saturday and we spent the day visiting. It was the first time they have been to Memphis since Caroline was born so it was nice to have them. They brought both kids a personalized piggy bank - a birthday gift for Tyler and a baptism gift for Caroline. We ventured out to yummy dinner at Half Shell (where both kids did great!) and came home to watch the hockey finals (where I was schooled that there are 3 periods...not quarters or halves. Ha!) After dinner, we had a mini-photo shoot by our favorite tree. When we asked Tyler if he wanted to hold Caroline for some pictures, he immediately said "go sit by tree" and ran over and sat down. Ha! I told you, it's magical!

The "Super Moon"...the moon was the closet to Earth this weekend that it will be all year.

Sunday was Caroline's big day! She wore a beautiful dress that Granna bought before I was even married for her future grand-daughter!! I am so glad that she got to wear it and I hope that maybe Caroline might want to put her future-daughter in it someday, if she is so blessed to have one. Granna also got her the sweetest pearl bracelet with a C silver dangle on it. Nannie and Tom, who were unable to make the trip, sent a beautiful silver cross necklace that she wore, too. I think a jewelry box may need to be on her Christmas list!!

We headed to church early to get a few pictures in the fountain garden. Pop, Uncle Brian and Lindsay met us there. Tyler was a wild man and had a blast running around and looking for the fish. We got several good pictures before heading inside to claim good seats up close. We debated, but we sent Tyler to his class instead staying with us. I think it was the right call because we didn't want him to overshadow or take away from Caroline's moment. I brought a bottle and fed Caroline right as the service was beginning so she would be full and happy (hopefully!) during the service. It worked, because she did great the entire time!

We asked our friend, Freddie, to baptize Caroline. He is the Marriage and Family pastor at Hope and we have gotten to know him and his family since they moved here 2 years ago. It was nice to have someone we know personally to be a part of her day.

After the service, we all headed back to our house for lunch and cake with some playing and napping mixed in. It was a great and tiring weekend honoring our darling baby girl. We are so grateful!
